موزيلا تعمل على نسخة خاصة من فايرفوكس لويندوز 8

النسخة الجديدة تدعم واجهة "ميترو" المستخدمة في الأجهزة اللمسية

كشفت موزيلا عن خططها لعمل نسخة من متصفح فايرفوكس تستخدم واجهات “ميترو” الخاصة بنظام ويندوز 8. وسيعتمد التطبيق على محرك “جيكو Gecko” مفتوح المصدر مع الاستفادة من التحسينات والعناصر الأخرى التي طورتها مايكروسوفت للتطبيقات التي تستخدم الواجهة.

وستقدم موزيلا النسخة المبدئية من التطبيق في الربع الثاني من العام 2012، هذه النسخة ستستفيد من خاصية “ميترو” التي ستسمح لفايرفوكس بمشاركة المعلومات خارج المتصفح مع التطبيقات الأخرى.

ويُذكر أن مايكروسوفت توفر نسخة تدعم واجهات “ميترو” من إنترنت إكسبلورر 10 لكن الشركة قالت بأن متصفحها الجديد لن يدعم الإضافات (مثل إضافة الفلاش من أدوبي)، لكن من غير الواضح إن كان سيُسمح للمتصفحات الأخرى مثل فايرفوكس بدعم الإضافات.

وذكرت الشركة أن الجهاز الجديد والمدعوم ببرنامج ” OS7″، يتمتع بمجموعة رائعة من الخواص والسمات، جعلته سهل الاستخدام ومناسب لكافة الفئات العمرية، مبينة أن الجهاز بخلاف أنه يمتاز بوجود شاشة عالية الوضوح تعمل باللمس، فإنه يتمتع بخفة الوزن مقارنة بالأجهزة الأخرى.

وأكدت الشركة أنه بفضل السمات التي يحملها الجهاز، فهو يقدم الجيل المتطور لهذه النوعية من الأجهزة التي وجدت إقبالاً كبيراً على كافة المستويات، مشيرة إلى أنها تقدمه بأسعار تنافسية للغاية مع مجموعة متنوعة من العروض التي تتناسب مع كافة الأفراد.

حققت الشركة نمواً متسارعاً رغم أن التطبيق طُرح منذ أكثر قليلاً من عام واحد

أعلنت شركة “فايبر Viber” المطورة لتطبيق فايبر الشهير للمكالمات الصوتية عبر الانترنت باستخدام الهواتف الذكية عن وصول عدد مستخدمي التطبيق إلى 50 مليون مستخدم.
كما كشفت الشركة عن المزيد الإحصائيات المثيرة للإعجاب، حيث يقوم المستخدمون من بإجراء أكثر من مليار دقيقة من المكالمات شهرياً، وإرسال حوالي مليار رسالة نصية خلال نفس الفترة و 20 مليون رسالة مصورة خلال نفس الفترة.
وأضافت بأن تطبيقها المتوفر على كل من أندرويد و آيفون مُستخدم من في 193 دولة حول العالم.
الملفت للنظر بأن الشركة قد حققت هذه الأرقام بعد حوالي عام فقط من انطلاق الخدمة التي ما زالت تشهد نمواً متسارعاً بحوالي 200,000 تسجيل يومياً، وذلك رغم وجود المنافسة الشديدة من شركات تقدم خدمات مشابهة مثل Skype, Nimbuzz, Fring, eBuddy, Vonage وغيرها.
