يجلب العديد من التحسينات بالإضافة إلى نسخة الدعم الموسّع للشركات

أعلنت موزيلا اليوم عن توفر الإصدار رقم 10 للتحميل من متصفحها الشهير “فايرفوكس”. وتحمل النسخة الجديدة تحسينات في نظام إدارة الإضافات، كما تم إخفاء زر التوجه إلى الأمام forward حيث لا يظهر إلا عند الحاجة إليه، وتمت إضافة الواجهات البرمجية المناسبة APIs التي تسمح لتطبيقات الويب بالعمل ملىء الشاشة، كما تمت إضافة بعض التحسينات على WebGL.
كما أطلقت موزيلا مع هذه النسخة مفهوم “نسخة الدعم الموسَّع Extended Support Release” وهي موجهة للشركات التي لا تريد تكلف عناء تحديث متصفحاتها كل ستة أسابيع. هذه النسخة لن تتلقى أية تحديثات عدا التحديثات الأمنية، وستحصل على التحديث الرئيسي بعد كل سبعة تحديثات عادية.
ويُذكر أن موزيلا كانت قد اعتمدت منذ حوالي التسعة أشهر اتباع أسلوب إطلاق التحديثات بشكل متسارع، حيث تقوم بإطلاق نسخة جديدة كل ستة أسابيع وذلك بشكل يشبه دورة إطلاق متصفح غوغل كروم المنافس. وكانت إحصائيات أخيرة قد أشارت بأن متصفح كروم قد احتل ترتيب ثاني أكثر المتصفحات استخداماً بعد إنترنت إكسبلورر، وبذلك يكون قد انتزع اللقب من فايرفوكس الذي حافظ على المرتبة الثانية لسنوات طويلة.
من المتفرض ان يقوم البرنامج بتحديث نفسه تلقائياً، كما يمكن تحميل التحديث بشكل يدوي
